Southeast power burn climbs to 7.3 Bcf

US production for Wednesday is relatively flat at 73.1 Bcf after Tuesday’s estimate was revised up 0.7 Bcf. The production revision was focused on the Northeast and Southeast with increases of 0.4 Bcf and 0.1 Bcf, respectively. Total US demand fell slightly to 62.2 Bcf for Wednesday, a net decrease of 0.1 Bcf from Tuesday. There were drops in Residential/Commercial of 0.7 Bcf which were offset by a build of 0.7 Bcf in power burn day over day. The ResComm decreases were spread over the Midwest and Southwest while the power burn increases were focused in the Northeast and Southeast. Southeast power burn is up to 7.3 Bcf, which is 0.8 Bcf over the six day average, as the region’s power burn attempts to recover in the wake of Hurricane Irma. US exports to Mexico rose to 4.1 Bcf, an increase of 0.3 Bcf from Tuesday; the previous six days have been averaging 3.9 Bcf/d.
